Melesia Sutherland is Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs, working with the multinational company Cable & Wireless, now a part of Liberty Latin America, which uses the consumer brands FLOW and Horizon (TV) in the Caribbean.
Ms Sutherland has twenty years’ experience in regulatory management. She is a director of the trade association for telecoms operators across the Caribbean region (CANTO) and Chair of the Regulatory & Emerging Technologies Committee of CANTO. The Committee addresses policy issues which are priorities for CANTO members including Universal Service, Spectrum Management and promotion of an enabling environment. She has spoken at several conferences organised by regional and international organisations such as the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), International Institute of Communications (IIC), Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) Latin America Spectrum Management Conference, and the International Satellite Organisation (Intelsat).
Ms Sutherland holds a first degree in Government from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance.
