Melissa Farara-Jelusic is the Economics Manager at the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, with over 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. She has held several roles of increasing responsibility and currently leads the development and implementation of economic strategies, market assessments, and regulatory initiatives that promote competition and sustainable growth.

Her work includes broadband infrastructure and submarine cable systems, with a focus on analysing market dynamics and strengthening regulatory frameworks.

Melissa holds a Master’s in Specialized Economic Analysis: Competition and Market Regulation from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. Her graduate research examined bottlenecks in fixed access broadband infrastructure, including local loops and submarine cables.

She is passionate about supporting sustainable development in small island nations, particularly in the Caribbean, and helping them build resilience in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
