Miguel Calderón is currently Director of Public Policy Strategy at Telefónica HISPAM. Mr Calderón joined Telefónica México in 2007, where he was in charge of different areas such as Public & Regulatory Affairs, Strategic Planning, Regulatory, Quality & Processes, and the Wholesale Market in Mexico.
Previously, Mr Calderón worked at Avantel, a former telecom operator, as CTO and CMO. He has also had experience in the financial sector, where he worked in the areas of Communications Engineering, Systems, Strategic Planning, and Credit Cards of Banamex (now Citibanamex).
Mr Calderón is currently the President of the Digital Economy chapter at ICC Mexico, where he is coordinating the Diploma program in Digital Economy in collaboration with Escuela Libre de Derecho. In addition, Mr Calderón writes technology articles for Forbes magazine.
Mr Calderón has a BSc in Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Universidad Iberoamericana and has Diplomas in Marketing and Regulation. He also has given seminars on telecommunications at the Universidad Anáhuac, Iberoamericana and Tecnológico de Monterrey.
