Moe Thu Zar Aung joined Myanmar Radio and Television, the state-owned tv station, as an editor in 1991, working in the News division for both local and international news. In 2001, she became in charge of the News division and helped establish the English language channel, mrtv-3. After 24 years in service, she was promoted to the Head of the TV division.
She is a Member of the Drafting Committee of Broadcasting Law, Myanmar’s first ever broadcasting law. She compiled a code of ethics for MRTV and helps in the drafting of broadcast law and public service broadcasting law to enable the transformation of MRTV to a public service broadcaster.
