Narrimane Benakcha is the Head of Digital Policy, Middle East & Africa, at Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leading cloud service platform which offers on-demand IT services ranging from infrastructure to Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things. With expertise on policy issues including data protection and privacy standards, Ms Benakcha leads AWS’ engagements with policy makers, regulators, industry and academia to enable the adoption of emerging technologies. She started her career in the banking industry where she served as Standard Chartered Bank’s Director for Public Affairs in the Middle East and Africa. She also headed HSBC Bank’s compliance function in Morocco and helped set up the Bank’s financial intelligence department for the region.
