Raul L. Katz is Director of Business Strategy Research at the Columbia Institute for Tele-Information at Columbia University; and Visiting Professor at the Universidad de San Andres, Argentina. He is also President of Telecoms Advisory Services, a firm that advises digital technology clients in the fields of strategy, regulation and business development. During his career, he has worked extensively in the planning and development of digital businesses, particularly telecommunications. He has also led engagements in all five continents, advising governments on telecommunications universal service policies, carrier privatisation, industry liberalisation and national software strategies. He has published over 50 articles and five books, including The Information Society: an International Perspective. He received his PhD in Management Science and Political Science and an MS in Communications Technology and Policy from MIT.
