Reuben Smith-Vaughan serves as the Head of Public Policy for Latin America in Amazon’s Washington, DC office, leading the company’s engagement with policymakers across the region. Reuben joined Amazon in December 2017 from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he was senior director of the Americas Department, International Affairs Division. Mr Smith-Vaughan also served as executive director of the U.S-Mexico Economic Council (USMXECO), where he led initiatives to both enhance commercial and investment opportunities for U.S. companies in Mexico and strengthen economic growth during the process to modernize NAFTA. In addition, Smith-Vaughan’s portfolio included executive management of the U.S.-Cuba Business Council (USCBC) and the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America & the Caribbean (AACCLA).
Previously, Mr Smith-Vaughan worked for the World Bank, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Spanish Department at American University.
Mr Smith-Vaughan is a graduate of American University in Washington, D.C., with a B.A. in international economics.
