Rocío Lorenzo assumed her position in Panama on January 22, 2024.

She holds the distinction of being the first woman to occupy this role in the telecommunications company in 27 years.

With a career spanning fifteen years in the telecommunications and media industry, she has provided strategic counsel to senior executives in Europe and the United States, guiding them on strategy development, growth initiatives, and large-scale transformations.

Ms Lorenzo completed her legal studies at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain and the University of Passau in Germany.

In 2015, she was recognized as one of the 25 female business leaders by Handelsblatt, HuffPost, and Edition F.

Bloomberg Línea acknowledged her as one of the 50 Women of Impact in Latin America for 2024 in March of that year. The international magazine highlighted her pivotal role within this distinguished group, where she stands out as the sole representative from Panama. This collective is reshaping the landscape of Latin America, establishing precedents that emphasize the significant contributions of women across the business, finance, entertainment, sports, arts, and entrepreneurship industries.

This annual listing represents the third iteration and complements the 500 Most Influential People in Latin America and the 100 Most Influential Latinos.

Ms Lorenzois the author of several studies on diversity and innovation, including “The Mix that Matters: Innovation Through Diversity,” which delves into how workplace diversity cultivates more innovative teams, among other aspects.

Additionally, she has authored other publications such as “Busting Telco’s Eight Biggest Personalization Myths” and “Transforming Telcos with Artificial Intelligence.”

With extensive international experience, Lorenzo commenced her career as a Senior Partner and Managing Director at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in 2007, leading the telecommunications practice of the company.

She has served as a Board Director of the Supervisory Board at LIR – Leibnitz Institute for Resilience Research and presently holds a position as a Board Director of Deutsche Glasfaser Unternehmensgruppe. This company is a frontrunner in delivering fiber optic services to rural areas in Germany.

Since August 2021, Ms Lorenzo has been a resident of Panama City, serving as the Executive Director of Customer Service at Liberty Latin America. This role encompasses overseeing the day-to-day operations of the CWP/+Móvil business, managing relationships with shareholders, and engaging with the company’s Board of Directors. Her work is based at the LLA Operations Center situated in Costa del Este.
