Dr Sonho Kim is Research Principal, Media Research Center, Korea Press Foundation (2014~Current). He is also Adjunct Professor, Graduate School of Journalism, Yonsei University (2016~Current).
He has previously held positions with the Artificial Intelligence and Copyright Policy Working Group (2024); Executive Director, Korean Society of Journalism and Communication Studies (2023); Naver and Kakao News Partnership Evaluation Committee (2021~2022, 2016~2017) and Executive Director, Korean Association of Broadcasting Studies (2021).
Research (recent English publications) are: (2016~Current) Korean Section of the Reuters Digital News Report; (Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism)
(2020); Effects of VR news on knowledge gain and news attitudes, International Journal of Mobile Communication, 18(3); (2019) Fake news should be regulated because it influences both others and me, Mass Communication & Society, 22.
Dr Kim has received the following awards: Minister Award, Ministry of the Environment, Korean Government (2023), Gallup Excellent Paper Award (2019)and Emerging Scholar Award, Korean Society of Journalism and Communication Studies (2014).
Dr Kim has a PhD Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania (2011), MA Journalism and Mass Communication, Korea University (1999) and BA Journalism and Mass Communication, Korea University (1996).
