Tapan Kumar Patra has been Director of ACTO for over 11 years and has played key roles working with the policy makers and regulators for the benefit of TSPs/ISPs, end users and government. Prior to ACTO he worked for over two decades in telecom R&D: 10 years with C-DOT – Telecom R&D centre of Govt of India with main focus on telecom product development for rural areas. He also spent 10 years in telecom R&D, primarily with Tellabs, a global MNC known for high end telecom products, where he was centre head of the Tellabs Offshore development site at Gurgaon. Education: B. Tech and LL.B
