Senior Manager, Policy - APAC, BSA - The Software Alliance

Wai San Wong is Senior Manager, Policy – APAC at BSA | The Software Alliance. She works with BSA members in the APAC region to develop policies and strategies on a range of data governance issues, including privacy and AI.

Before joining BSA, Ms Wong served just under two decades in the Singapore public service, including at the Personal Data Protection Commission and the Infocomm Media Development Authority. In the former capacity, she helped to shape national policies on cross border data flows, data breach notifications, and children’s data protection. Prior to this, she also held key roles in the TechSkills Accelerator Programme, a national infocomm talent development programme, and the Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network that brought broadband fibre connections to every Singapore home and business.

Ms Wong received a MA and a BA (Hons) in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK. She holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe credential by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
