The French competition regulator has imposed a record fine on Apple, reports Reuters. The company is accused of imposing prices on resellers to align with those charged in its own shops or on the internet. Apple’s two wholesalers, who were found to have prevented distributors from competing with each other, were also fined. The decision comes at a time of increased scrutiny of tech giants by European Regulators, says the news site. Apple announced that it intends to appeal the ruling.
