UK: Ofcom has announced that Jonathan Oxley will become interim chief executive while the process to appoint a permanent chief executive continues. He will take on the role at the end of November, when Sharon White leaves, reports Mobile News. He is currently Group Director for Competition at the regulators, a position he has held since 2014. Prior to Ofcom, he worked at PwC for eight years. Oxley’s appointment is subject to approval by the secretary of state for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Jonathan Oxley was one of the speakers at the opening session of the IIC’s International Regulators’ Forum (IRF) in London on 7 October 2019 where he spoke on the changing nature of competition policy. IIC regulator members have received their copy of our report on the IRF.
