IN MEMORY OF JOHN GRAY

John Gray, who died recently, was not only an active and much valued member of the lie, but also fascinated by the history of broadcasting, in which he had spent his whole career. Here, as a tribute to John I we reprint a brief extract from an article he wrote in 2003 about how history has shaped the broadcasting structures we now have. The pictures with that article brought the narrative to life.
