The U.S. FCC is quietly patting itself on the back for "unleashing spectrum" that will create lots of prosperity off the back of wireless broadband.

More precisely, FCCCommissioner Deborah Taylor Tate has been ticking off the benefits from a light touch regulatory policy in promoting wireless broadband services, and in a recent speech she said there had already been "enormous benefits to consumers".
