From Detection to Protection; Thailand’s model for combatting Call and SMS scams
As call and SMS scams continue to grow in scale and complexity, Thailand has adopted a proactive and collaborative model to protect citizens and strengthen digital trust. This panel will explore Thailand’s end-to-end approach to tackling telecom fraud—from early detection and information sharing to fast intervention and consumer protection.
With insights from the national telecom regulator and key partners at the Anti-Online Scam Operations Center (AOC), multi-agency coordination, regulatory enforcement, and technology-driven solutions are transforming the country’s defense against scam networks. The session will highlight the mechanisms behind scam detection, alongside the role of public awareness campaigns in empowering users to protect themselves.
Participants will gain a clear view of the “Thailand Model” for anti-scam operations, including how regulators, telecom operators, and security agencies work together to block, trace, and stop fraudulent activities. The panel will also look ahead to future threats and outline how Thailand plans to strengthen cross-border cooperation and regulatory frameworks to stay ahead of emerging scams.
This session offers practical insights for government, regulators, telecom operators, cybersecurity experts, and policymakers seeking scalable solutions to protect citizens and build digital resilience in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
