IIC’s annual Communications Policy and Regulation Week 2026 is taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

We are delighted that the International Regulators Forum will take place 12 – 13 October 2026.

The IIC Small Nations Regulators Forum will take place on 13 October 2026.

The IIC’s 57th Annual Conference will follow and take place 14 – 15 October 2026. Senior industry representatives will join regulators, academics and other stakeholders from the telecoms, media and technology stakeholder communities for two days of discussions on the big questions and issues facing the sector.

International Regulators Forum Key Themes:

  • Experimental regulation for emerging technologies – towards more agile and adaptive frameworks
  • Trust, security, and resilience in digital infrastructure – focusing on subsea cable resilience and cybersecurity coordination
  • Online safety & consumer protection – regulating platform design; practical enforceability of under-15/under-16 social media restrictions
  • Competition in digital markets – sharing experiences with ex post / ex ante initiatives globally
  • News, democracy and algorithmic delivery – digital provenance, deepfakes and election integrity; AI chatbots, answer engines and search as regulated information intermediaries; building media literacy
  • Creative economy and regulatory reform – regulatory responses to digital realities; supporting local content; balancing cultural integrity and global market dynamics
  • Preparing for WRC-27 – focusing on potential bands for mobile and for satellite connectivity
  • Sustainability dilemmas – should regulators diverge from technology neutrality if one technology considered more sustainable than another?

The meeting will be held under the Chatham House Rule and a report will be available to delegates and IIC members.

DELEGATE FEES
Prices are per person

All delegate fees include lunches, tea and coffee breaks. It also includes the Welcome Reception and the Gala Reception for those attending the Annual Conference.

All prices quoted are excluding VAT. VAT will be applicable for all registrations made in the United Kingdom.

For the International Regulators Forum, there will be a limit of  two delegates per organisation. Member Regulator organisations of the IIC will receive two free places to attend. Additional delegates who wish to attend from an organisation will be at the discretion of the IIC.

The IIC will be pleased to provide a letter of invitation on request, but visas will be the responsibility of the event attendee.

Do I need a visa to attend CPR Week in Malaysia?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Some passport holders can enter Malaysia without a visa, while others must obtain an eVisa or another appropriate visa before travelling. Delegates are responsible for checking the entry requirements applicable to their nationality.

International delegates attending a conference will generally require the appropriate visa for a short business or social visit, depending on their nationality and Malaysia’s immigration requirements. Please review the official guidance before applying.
